Our Story
A mother's thought that became a kitchen
माँ के हाथ का स्वाद, अब आपके शहर में
Rajni Vijayakar has run a small cosmetic shop in Rewa for years, and at home she has always been the one who cooks for everyone — festivals, guests, ordinary Tuesdays. Between the shop counter and her kitchen, one thought kept returning to her.
“If my own son were living in another city, and one evening he was hungry for real home food — who would give it to him? What would I want someone to serve him?”
That question turned into an idea, and in 2021 the idea became Shri Sawariya Tiffin Services. She began cooking exactly what she cooked for her own children — dal, a seasonal sabzi, soft rotis, rice, fresh salad and a spoon of homemade achar — and sending it out to the students, working people and families of Rewa.
Five years later, nothing about that kitchen has changed. Masalas are still ground at home, vegetables still bought fresh from the mandi each morning, and every dish is still tasted by Rajni ji before the lid is closed. Only the number of families we feed has grown.
